In the late 2010's Tottenham became an consistant top four team under Mauricio Pochettino and many people believed they should have won either the premier league or Champions league during that time. However as good as their football was they always failed at the final hurdle and that is one of the reason they are called "Spursy" by rival fans. Now with other top teams getting stronger they are struggling to qualify for Champions League.

Even the appointment of Jose Mourinho could not break the trophy barrier and they failed in EFL Cup final against City and finished outside of Europa League places but will have to play UEFA Conference league in 2021/22 season. Which is a shame really because they do have some great players at the club who are at the peak of their powers in Son, Harry Kane to name a few.

With the appoint of Nuno Espírito Santo, Tottenham would hope they can get back in the European places and qualify for Champions League which looks unlikely in 2021/22 season but if they can build on it they do have a chance.
